A face among the autumn leaves. One of the few times in which death is beautiful.
About the work
I worked off of an old sketch to make this picture. With the main portrait drawn, I felt it was little on the plain side, so I added some interesting points of detail with branches and autumn leaves. Colour was then added to the leaves with watercolour paint. In do so, the piece becomes far more interesting to look at. It also serves to frame the face of the woman and draw your attention to her gaze. Even though the woman is drawn in an anime style, great detail was added to the leaves to give them a realistic look and feel.
The original artwork hangs in a private collection.
