Running Before Crawling

This may seem a little odd for a fine artist to admit, but the truth is I don't know how to doodle. I can paint delicate paintings and create elaborate drawings, but the talent of a simple doodle eludes me! The problem stems mostly from my lack of free time and my tendency to jump from project to project without much down time. On the surface, it doesn't seem like a big deal. However, I believe doodling is a fundamental skill for any artist to have. It helps cultivate creativity and acts as an avenue of practice. It has only...Read More

Art Show, Art Fair, and News!

Has it really been since January that I last wrote? Yikes! So much has happened since then - the biggest being the Reel Tucson Lucky Art Show and the Tucson Museum's of Art's Spring Art Market & Flower Festival. I spent about a month preparing for both events - making art and getting supplies. Only now has the dust settled and I am finally able to get back to the day-to-day - including (hopefully) more consistent blog posts! In the meantime, here's some highlights on both events, site updates, and future plans! Reel Tucson - Lucky March 14th saw my...Read More

Happy New Year!

Just a quick blog post to wish everyone a wonderful new year! Today has been amazing in every way, and the perfect way to start off the year refreshed and renewed! Very refreshing was the snow covered yard I woke up to! It doesn't snow often here in the southwest, so it was a real treat to make a mini snowman outside and warm up to a roaring fire inside! That all said, please enjoy this last post of 2018! :) [caption width="1080"]Instagram best 9 of 2018![/caption] This year has been one of my more productive years with art from both a creative and business standpoint. My website has always been a problem for me as I'm...Read More

Homeward Bound Artist!

Hello dear reader! Sorry for the late blog post. As I type this, I'm sitting in the Milwaukee airport waiting for my flight back home to the desert. For the past six days I've been staying with some wonderful friends in their lakeside cabin with almost nonexistent cellphone service or wifi. Having to be disconnected wasn't all that bad though. It forced me to relax for once, and simply enjoy the beauty that surrounded me. The purpose of this trip was primarily as a summer vacation. A chance to get away and relax. However, as an artist, I found the...Read More
